Downloads folder missing from galleries

Having had the LG G4 since November, Sprint user, this issue has plagued me from the beginning - I was an S4 user prior but having made the transition was a bit to get adjusted but overall am glad. No matter which application is used, apparently my default Downloads folder is never listed when selecting videos, pictures, or files to share with people or in applications. Has anyone found a way to the include this folder in gallery, messaging, or any application other than a file explorer? I have yet to find a resolve anywhere on line to this day - apparently nor has it been asked.

That's up to the application you're using - it determines which folders, or types of folders, to list when you use it to share things. If the underlying operating system call changes, and the app isn't rewritten to take that into account (which is what I think the situation is here), things change from the user's viewpoint.
