havent had any issues here. you might want to see if there is an update or something for it. the nuclear option would be to factory reset the phone. if the issue persists, it might be a good idea to have them trade it in for a new g6

Ummm APN? Lol
Settings, mobile networks, access point names. You can find carrier APN settings by Google using "(carrier) APN settings"

If they aren't right it won't connect up properly.

nice! also, if you start seeing the issue again and the regular cs keeps giving you the run around, try emailing john legere. his email is john.legere@t-mobile.com ive had to do that a couple of times and there is a higher level of cs that will contact you.
