Screen timeout and brightness adjustable?

Both screen timeout and brightness adjustment are not disabled on mine. Is that what it shall be? The issue I have is the screen won't turn off and lock after 2 minutes. If power off button was not pressed right after use, one may accidentally activate programs, calls or others.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.

Settings > Display > Screen Timeout and choose the amount of time to pass until the screen turns off. It will lock shortly thereafter. The timeout should work fine as long you have no applications running [even in the background] that specifically need to keep the phone awake.

thanks for reply. Both options are grayed out so I can not adjust. May need to return this one.

looks like both options are disabled when there is no SIM card. strange.

Are you sure you didn't download an app that took control of that portion for some reason? That's odd behavior for a defective phone or install. Try a factory reset under privacy and see if it is the same.

It comes with a 2gb card installed. Make sure it's in and do a fresh factory reset and proper setup.
