Alarm clock

I'm new to Android coming from a BB 9800. I really like my OG, but I have a small issue I hope you all out there might be able to assist. On my BB 9800, I could set the alarm, and even when the phone was completely off, the alarm would go off and the phone would start. On my OG, I've gone over settings, set the alarm multiple times and as long as it was plugged in and on the alarm would go off. If I set the alarm and turn the phone compeltely off, the alarm will not go off. Any suggestions? Or, ....was I "spoiled" by BB! Thanks, guys.

Maybe your BlackBerry wasn't doing a true power off but was actually going to standby.

the blackberry wasn't truly powered off. it was actually a very deep hibernate. so you will need to leave your optimus powered on.
