Default [DEAD ROM] ThundeROM V1.8.3 4/5/2011

Beezy and KSmithInNY are proud to present ThundeROM!!!!!

Beezy and myself will no longer be supporting or updating ThundeROM. While it was a hard decision to part with the "brand" we created, we feel we are doing it for the right reasons. You can continue to download and use ThundeROM with the understanding that the code will not be updated.

With that said, the reason we have decided to leave ThundeROM is because a new project has formed involving Beezy, KSmithInNY, and Nick7. This new project has taken the best of LEGO ROM, the best of nROM, and the best of ThundeROM and put them together. We feel it does more justice for the community to have all 3 of us developers working on a common ROM with a common goal as opposed to us constantly battling and essentially chasing our tails. Since forming this team, we have already accomplished some things all of us wanted to do, but were having issues with the execution. This also helps us 3 maintain a better android/real life balance.

If you'd like to continue using ThundeROM you're more than welcome to. But, if you'd like to try something different, I'd encourage you to see our new work.

    Beezy and KSmithInNY

Please, at a minimum, Read post #1 and Post #2 prior to flashing. Also read the thread prior to posting.

    Standard Disclaimer:
We are not responsible for your device, SD cards, thermonuclear war, or the current economic crisis. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, we are simply making them available. - Steve Kondik
    Requirements:
Your phone must be rooted, have a custom recovery, and be running the VD baseband. No exceptions. Anything less and the ROM won't work properly. To check baseband Menu > Settings > About phone > Baseband version should end with VD. If it does not, go HERE to update the baseband and keep root.

    ROM:
In a effort to keep things moving forward, we don't support builds that are not the most current version.
Please, at a minimum, Read post #1 and Post #2 prior to flashing. Also read the thread prior to posting.

STOP AND READ THE ENTIRE 1st POST AND THIS POST.
Prior to posting, please ensure you have read the rules for ROMs. Following these is not an option, it's a requirement both for developers and people using developers products. There will be no exceptions.

Known Bugs specific to this ROM:
PLEASE DO NOT REPORT GENEREAL ANDROID/SPRINT/FROYO/LG BUGS.
    - None that we introduced.

    How to flash ROM
Download ROM, do not open it, do not extract it, do not rename it.
    place on root of sdcard
    boot into recovery
    make a nadroid backup
    wipe data,cache,dalvik
    flash rom
    reboot

The download link for the ROM can be found in post #3. We moved it in hopes more people would read post #1 and #2 prior to flashing

    To use Wireless Tethering (AP)
    1) Long press any blank spot on your screen, select widget, select Hotspot Widget. From now on clicking this will create a WiFi hotspot.

    Reporting an issue
If you identify an issue that's not already listed in the bugs section above please do the following. If you have not done the following we will simply point you back to this section so please help us help you.
    1) If you are running a custom kernel do not report the issue until you have gone back to our kernel and can duplicate the issue.
    2) If you are running a task killer do not report the issue until you have removed the task killer, rebooted your phone, and can duplicate the issue.
    3) If you are having an issue with any app that you download from the market or any other source, please do not report the issue to us. There is a very good chance this has little or nothing to do with the ROM and everything to do with that specific app. You should check to see if others on similar ROMs are having an issue with that app. Check to see if the app dev has a bugs list. check to see if the app is compatible with your version of Android. Email the app dev to see if they are aware. Uninstall and reinstall the app. etc... etc... etc...
    4) If you are not on our newest version linked in post #3 AND did not do a full wipe prior to flashing, do not report an issue until you have done so.
    5) Do not use this thread as your personal help forum. We understand you may have questions about things that are unrelated to the ROM but you want them answered quick so you post them in here. These types of questions will be moved out of the thread, which requires us to manually intervene, please save us the time. You will notice that the same people who are active in this thread are active in every Optimus thread. Post your question outside of this thread, in the general area for assistance.
EX: How do I mount or unmount my SD card when i connect to a PC? This is a legitimate question, but has nothing to do with the ROM.
    6) Duplicate the issue. If you don't know how it happened or how to do it again, neither do we lol
    7) Have you rebooted your phone and after reboot can duplicate the issue? If not please do.
    8) Post very detailed instructions on how to duplicate the issue, for example:
-Click Menu > Settings > Display
-Un-check "Auto Rotate Screen" then the phone punches me in the face

To allow all buttons to wake screen flash the attached zip in recovery,no need to wipe anything.

request for 1.1: adblock hosts file
Edit: perhaps a data wipe too, afraid to wipe data since the zip installed something to data, don't know if its because of old /data or because of bug but Voice Search force closes and does not work.

We won't put a adblock in our roms we support the hard work of other developers.
You will need to do a full wipe before flashing. If it's no in the first post it will be added soon.
    To flash
    boot recovery
    wipe data,cache,dalvik
    flash rom
    reboot

Edit- Ill have to check out the voicesearch I think I might have broke it at the never end.

Linpack shows double speed. As for actually noticeable, you can notice it going a little faster but not 2x.

It doesn't hurt anything though, so...

It still needs work to support the ext.You don't need it yet there is 150mb free on isntall. I have removed a file to keep a2sd from causing issues till we have it all worked out.

I have ran his kernel and everything seems okay for me.I will incourage you to make a nadroid backup before hand. That will be your way to revert if need be cause i haven't posted a return to stock because we were holding off on the kernel for a little while. Not saying anything bad about the kernel because it rocks it will probably find it's way into the rom, just we didn't have enough time to get everything tested with all the other stuff we did.

Big thanks to KSmithInNY and Beezy for a great 1.0. I especially like the UI enhancements throughout. A couple of questions:

How is apps2sd supposed to work? Apps are not being installed onto the sdcard nor being moved there after boot.

We no longer need to use minfreemanager for proper memory management, correct?
