LG Optimus S Control Center for Mac
A Team AndrophilesTM Release
[INFO]About LG Optimus S Control Center (OSCC):
I am extremely excited to announce the public availability of OSCC for Mac, version 1.0! Please read this entire post before downloading and installing.

OSCC for Mac is based on the yet unfinished OSCC 2.0 beta series for Windows. It combines the rooting/unrooting features of Gingersnap Root Utility with features such as recovery image flashing, software management, and so forth.

Information regarding OSCC for Windows:
OSCC for Windows is being redesigned and recoded from the ground up. This will take a while. There will also be a version released for Linux in the future.

Should Superuser be installed before attempting to root? The utility seems to hang when it reaches the "Executing exploit" stage of the root process. I must be doing something wrong.

No Superuser will be installed automatically. The exploit can take a while, you just need to be patient.

Thanks, D.

One more question I should have asked earlier.

Does this support rooting of ZVD? That might be my issue. I assume that OSCC for Windows Beta 4, if and when it is fixed, will be able to root ZVD devices. Thanks!

OSCC for Windows is being redone from the ground up. And yes it will be able to root ZVD. OSCC for Mac was specifically designed to root ZVD, so shouldn't be any problems there.

I gave this a shot yesterday on my son's phone. I had already rooted with Gingersnap, and I attempted to install Recovery, a new kernel, and then the RebornROM.

None of these worked. I ended up having to do it all manually. The program gave no indication that it didn't work, but after each step, the phone was just like it was before...

Did you accept the Superuser prompts?

Yes. I think there was one time I did not, and I got an error message from the program, so it was giving that feedback.

OK, I think I MAY have found the issue actually. OS X is UNIX-based so guess what? Permissions problem. Just need to import the Xcode project back into my re-installed OS X. I'll have a fix ready in no time.

EDIT: It's not a permissions issue, and I can't reproduce this. Can you please shoot me a message on Google Talk? I'd like to work with you directly to resolve this. My Google Talk address is (forum username) AT gmail DOT com.

EDIT 2: Just reverted to 100% stock to try to reproduce this again. Can't reproduce it. The thing is, kernel and ROM installations REQUIRE that a custom recovery be installed first. Hence why the kernel and ROM installation did nothing. The application will not reboot your device after installing a custom recovery, you must do that yourself in the Device menu in OSCC.

This may be premature, but I'm blaming this one entirely on simple user error.

I don't have the phone with me, it is my son's. I may have some time available tonight around 7 to 9 PM eastern time, if that would work for you. What do you envision we would need to do? Does your program keep any activity logs I could look at and send to you?

No logging yet, that's on the drawing board for the next update. Check my second edit above.

That time should work, shoot me a message on Google Talk anyway.

This seems great, however, i can't get it to see my phone. I have the debugging enabled and everything. When it asks to see if my device is listed below i get nothing. not even numbers.:'(

Do you have USB Storage enabled? If so, disable it!
I had it disabled and found the problem. I had to uninstall Easy Tether from my mac. Now I'm not sure my phone is rooted. It reboots and doesn't seem any different. It reboots into the LG recovery and I click reboot then try to install the custom recovery and the same thing happens.

EDIT: just installed terminal emulator and saw # so i know its rooted, but now its just the custom recovery. do i need to download anything else with your package?
