whats safe to remove from sd card?

when I swapped from Xionia/rebourn 2.2.4 to drews cm7 stable 001 and gapps, I noticed my original 2g sdcard is almost full...(going to buy a new one soon)

so i went searching but found nothing specific thats says what is ok and not ok to delete from sd card, i dont want to mess anything up from the new rom, and the new ability of placing apps and such on sd card...ie: what if i need to do a backup from recovery, what files do i move to my pc? and what files do i just delete?

any help would be greatly appreciated !

You can wipe it. There's a folder with your pictures and media in it but if you don't care about your media, just erase the whole thing...

Backups. They take up 300-400MB of space. File manager>clockworkmod>backups

so i can wipe it and it not effect the apps that are saved to it?
its not going to effect my cm7 rom/gapps/backup that are in zip files on sdcard etc...?

should i wipe it from recovery or my pc?

sorry for the newbie ???'s but i am... so i want to be sure.

You can wipe it. Any apps that created a file will recreate it on reboot. If there is important data for an app you want to save you will need to copy the file from the sd card to the computer so that you can restore it to the sd card.

Forgot to mention that appear files usually have the app name in it.

Yes it will wipe everything if u format the card. Everythings goes byebye.
