Need help.. phone is confused?!

Im not sure I can explain everything Ive done, but heres my best....

Phone was roots, worked great until kids got ahold of it and allowed the ZVH update push.
I folowed (poorly I guess) the instructions in the thread for rooting ZVH, but lost my display in the process. At some point the phone would go into recovery mode, but would hange for days at the android splash.
I just did the revert to ZVD update from Sprint, and the phone is in the above state now. Strange thing is that while booting I have display, only backlighting. After it boots, hitting the power button brings everything up fine.
Using screencast works fine though.

So, where should I go from here? Ignore the display issue, and move to rooting (what method) or fix the display issue somehow?

Just to add more info, I was running the Reborn ROM and xionia recovery when it was Rooted
