Great, I'm glad it worked for you.

I'll add a note about the sdcard removal message. It is an expected message, which you are supposed to ignore, which it looks like you did.

Re: [How-To] Rooting LS670ZVH (automated, no revert/wipe needed)

This is actually a complete different issue than your first post. This time, you can access /sdcard/000root.

However I uploaded an enhancement earlier and missed a file in the zip archive. If that file had been there, you'd be rooted right now. I already fixed the zip archive, but you probably downloaded before the updated zip got put up.

Please re-download zvhauto.zip and try again. Apologize for the inconvenience.

What I ended up doing is downgrading back down to ZVD from a link that someone had on this forum and it worked. Now I'm running the ReBORN ROM, [ What I really want is 2.3 Gingerbread with CyanogenMOD. Will i need to manually upgrade to ZVH or can i just install the rom with the Xionia clockwork (i forgot to mention that I also upgraded the clockwork mod).

All the CM7 ports are based on ZVD, so you should be fine the way you are. If you upgrade to ZVH then the data won't work on the CM7 ports.

Re: [How-To] Rooting LS670ZVH (automated, no revert/wipe needed)

Thank you, my phone was rooted the first time I tried your automated program. I did root check, have Superuser (updated). Superuser permission has been asked and granted. All the Zerglings are celebrating (noisy bunch)...My question is this..Besides having Superuser listed with my apps, how else can I tell the phone is rooted?

If you download Titanium from the market and run it, it'll ask for root permissions on the phone's screen and assuming you accept, it'll work properly on your phone.

If you type "su" in "adb shell" or "terminal", it'll ask for root permissions on your phone's screen and assuming you accept, you'll see the "#" prompt.

If you reboot into recovery (power off, power + vol-dwn + home) you'll have Xionia CWMA (allows nandroid backup and installing custom roms)

There are other ways, but those are the most common things people do with root.

See Reference Section C in the 2nd post.

Skip all "install-*" scripts except "install-unroot.sh"

If you are taking it for repair and really want to undo everything, even the custom recovery then, prior to "install-unroot.sh" you should run "install-vd.sh" so it would look like this:

$ su
# cd /sdcard/000root
# /system/bin/sh install-vd.sh
# /system/bin/sh install-unroot.sh

Getting ready to

INSTALL persistent root

Please verify ALL of the following:

SD card is INSERTED (do NOT REMOVE even if it says "safe to remove")

USB Debugging is ENABLED

USB Storage Mode is DISABLED

LG USB/Android drivers are INSTALLED

Phone is connected to USB port and recognized

Press any key to continue . . .

Please verify ALL of the following:

Phone is turned ON

Phone screen is UNLOCKED

Press any key to continue . . .

----

Waiting for device to be connected [press CTRL-C to cancel]... Found device

Proceeding with install

---- BEGIN LOG ----

...Proceeding to copy necessary files...

cannot stat 'copy2tmp': No such file or directory
cannot stat 'copy2sd': No such file or directory

...Running Zerg exploit...
/system/bin/sh: Can't open /data/local/tmp/install-zerg-auto.sh

---- STATUS of ZERG on PREVIOUS few lines ----

cd: can't cd to /sdcard/000root
/data/local/tmp/sh: not found

cd: can't cd to /sdcard/000root
/data/local/tmp/sh: not found

---- END LOG ----

Check the STATUS of ZERG above, this exploit depends on a
condition which doesn't always hit

If you see

[-] Zerglings did not leave interesting stuff

Then the exploit did NOT work during this pass

After reboot you'll need to RE-RUN the root install script
It may take SEVERAL attempts before the condition hits

If you see

[+] Rush did it ! It's a GG, man !

Then the exploit was SUCCESSFUL. Script will reboot, then you are DONE!

Keep in mind, should you CHOOSE to run "su", you will be prompted
for permission on the phone's screen during the first run. If you
do not ALLOW this prompt you will get a "permission denied" error

turn ON phone
make sure you have EXITED the lock screen
run "su" from "adb shell"
accept the prompt on the phone's screen asking for root permissions

It is NOT required to run "su". You ARE ROOTED regardless.

----

Getting ready to reboot...

Press any key to continue . . .

----

/system/bin/sh: Can't open /sdcard/000root/install-cleanup.sh

Rebooting

If it takes LONGER than 30 seconds to initiate reboot
manually reboot using the POWER button to power OFF/ON

E:\zvhauto>

Am I missing something?

Re: [How-To] Rooting LS670ZVH (100% automated, no revert/wipe nee

Am I missing something?
Did you unzip all the files and directories in the zvhauto.zip archive?

The install is complaining it cannot find

C:\zvhauto\copy2sd

and

C:\zvhauto\copy2tmp

I downloaded zvhauto.zip from the first post and verified these are in the zip file so it must be something on your end causing them to not be found.
