Yes i just tried this and DONT use it as drew said THIS+Optimus S= (If you havent aready guessed) BRICK!!!!!! :'( ......So guess what i'm doing right now...Thats right!!.....lol anyways NO NO for this phone

This will flash to optimus s Just turn OFF signature verification I just flashed and works and boots..
Down side i cant tell u if you get signal or data cuz my anttena is brocken..
But it WILL Flash and Work!

And it is just an ics themed gingerbread rom. Cool but not really the point.

While looking around I found some work on the ZTE Blade an armV6 processor. This could be a good place to start, I'm no developer, but it seems like the biggest problem is the processor atm. Check it out, hopefully it's useful.

Not really...

It's going to be a major undertaking to get ICS working on this phone. First off, the system folder in the GT540 port is way too damn big to fit on the Optimus S. After deleting Gapps and some other stuff I finally got it to fit. Did it boot? Not even close.

I think that there was an AOSP that was around when I first got my optimus that someone had ported from the Optimus V, I wonder if the same process would work for this? We could only hope right?

[ROM][WIP][ALPHA] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.4 / CM7+ (Gingerbread) - xda-developers this one actually.

The issue is that is for the optimus one not the v. Not an easy port.

The point of that post was to prove that a rom for a V can be made to work on the S
