Try uninstalling the app, removing the device from approved devices in Google Play Music settings, reinstalling the app. Pretty sure that's how I fixed the FC on 3G error this past time.

I tried your suggestion, and it seemed like that might have been one issue, because Google had two of the same phone listed. I uninstalled the app, deauthorized both of them, and then reinstalled (multiple times, each time trying a reboot in between or not).

However, I am still getting the error "Unfortunately, Google Play Music has stopped." and then it FC's. It happens only when I'm trying to stream something. It even starts to load the song part way but still brings up the error. Yet if I switch to wifi, no such problems. Then, this is where the weirdness happens. If I turn back off wifi, after partially loading one song, the 3G works for a while. Earlier, when I encountered this strange behavior, it stayed working for a few songs, but then when I tried again later, it FC'd again. It's a bit odd, but since I have a partial workaround for now, it's not too bad anymore, as long as I have a place for the initial wifi.

I just did a reboot while it was working under 3G via that method, and it appears that on a fresh boot—without wifi on—it still does not work. Again, the wifi-switch method continues makes it work. I am perplexed.

[edit] I'd like to add that most everything else (besides the lack of camera preview) has been blowing me away. To me, there are only a few big bugs that I'm working with.

I'm also noticing the blank page bug in Google reader (the same bug as what some were experiencing with gmail)

You have broken the most important rules of custom ROMs.

No ETAs, don't even ask. Nobody knows when (or even if) anything will get fixed.

The camera is actually working fine. You just need to point and shoot. The image won't display on the screen but it will take the picture and save it in Gallery>Camera

It depends which alpha you are using, am I right? I know A8 camera works. But not A9.

I'm using A9 and the camera works. You just can't see what you're doing before you take the picture.

I might make a flashable patch with zvj files for some one to test. But I think Zvh/zvj will have the same troubles with data as before.

My phone's being weird then, my camera app just freezes.

My camera just FC's as well. Its not just you. IDK how these guys got camera to work with the new adreno libs.....

I forgot this in my other post but Kraven: Alpha 9 has a weird bug for me, When I get a notification it routes all audio to the phone speaker then back (if I'm using headphones) whereas in Alpha 8 and below if I got a notification it wouldn't interrupt my music and the notification sound would come over both headphones and internal speaker (but the music wouldn't be routed to the speaker like it is now).

It's weird.

If I'm not being clear I mean

Alpha 9: (Listening to Music then receiving notification while playing)
during the time the notification plays, the headphones shut off and the music plays through the internal speaker, after the notification it switches back to the headphones.

Alpha 8:
EDIT: Ignore that.. It does it in Alpha 8 too.. I guess I didn't notice it because half the time I have it on Vibrate only. (Goes back to Alpha 9 and keeps it on Vibrate for Notifications.)

I am also on thekravens cm9 and my camera force closes too, also seeker phone does not work properly im not sure if that was reported yet. . i did not test the kernel from drew yet.


Not trying to get off topic , i know you can install different kernal on roms aslong as they are compatible. but if i flash drews new ics kernel and then thekraven has cm9 alph 10/Beta 1 come out and i flash that. dirty flash the rom and not clena flash . things may not work propley if the kravens rom fixes were made to work with his rom. So if a new rom build comes out i would be better doing a clean flash and wipe everything. if im going to mess with different kernels. I figure the answer is yes, but just want to ask .. sorry for any typeos im on luch at work

ROM flashes will replace any kernels you have previously flashed, period. You'll need to re-flash the kernel every time.

In general, a clean wipe and flash is a good idea even when upgrading ROMs.

Also is anyone's phone not charging? I plug my phone in to charge and it doesn't detect the charger, but after an hour or so the battery updates its charge percentage.

Right now my phone is dead. When I plug the charger in it tries to start up, but shuts off during the Cyanogenmod loading screen and restarts. This repeats for an hour or so and eventually it starts up. Then it repeats that process, but this time shutting off after the rom is loaded.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I know it isn't my charger or plug on my phone since it does charge after a long while.

Just flashed drews ics kernel and now the camera takes pictures without crashing. Note the first time trying to take a pic cam made a noise like it was focusing but then did not take a picture. I then closed the app and opened it about twice and then could take pics no problem still no on screen display but hope this helps some.

Installed hydro kernel and it works!!still no preview :sly: better than nothing!

Hey guys phone won't start now. Doesn't get past the LG screen. Trying to go into recovery mode only sends me to a black screen. Any ideas on how to recover?

Well the only other problems I noticed was that my phone would not charge. I could plug it in and the phone would not detect the charger. Eventually the phone died. When I plug the charger in the phone tries to boot but would get no farther than the CM9 loading screen. Would just shut off, restart, and repeat. Now it doesn't get passed the LG screen. I didn't mess with the performance options at all.

Any thing else I should add?

im betting its a bad charger. most likely its getting an inital charge to get it to the LG screen, then not having enough in the battery to boot the phone. its caught in a dead batt boot loop.

try a new charger first. borrow one from someone.

Yea I already tried several different chargers and I had the same problem with all of them. Ended up having to charge my battery in another Optimus
