no service after zvh update

after installing a ZVh update I have no cellphone service. All the bars are grey with x on the top and I am MVH baseband instead of ZVH but that shouldn't matter right?

Just reflash the update with a stock recovery

If you started with ZVD, just flash the update zip twice, the second time will give you the radio.

So let me make sure i got this right..flash the update twice to get the radio and flash the stock recovery

Only stock recovery can flash the modem. Xionia recovery will ignore the modem flash. (Other custom recoveries won't ignore the flash, but will soft-brick your phone when flashing modem)

So if you start with Xionia, the first flash will get you the ZVH rom, kernel, and stock recovery.

The 2nd flash will no longer be done by Xionia, but instead will be done by the stock recovery installed in the 1st flash, so you will then have ZVH rom, kernel, stock recovery, AND radio/modem.
