Boot Sound?

The stock start up boot I believe is in /system/sounds/poweron (atleast in ZVJ 2.3.3). To simply remove the start up sound delete the poweron folder, which is what I did to remove it from DanteRom. To change, in theory just rename any .mp3 audio file to poweron.mp3 and replace the one within the rom before flashing or via a file manager.

Any idea where they are on ZVD? Something tells me I am going to have to break into my stock rom. LOL

EDIT : I Found where, now just need to think of a good power on sound.

OK I put the file in the right place. I looked at the stock zvd to find where it was. I copied that file to sdcard. Restored my nandroid of my reborn rom, pasted the poweron folder to same location as tbe stock zvd. BUT still no boot sound. Is there anything else I have to do to enable the boot sound?

The located of the file is at /system/sound/poweron

In ginger rom I didn't see a poweron folder

That's because they removed it when they built the rom, that's why I looked at a stock rom to find where it was.

I just need to now figure out how to get it to work.

Make sure the mp3 file itself is the named exactly the same as the stock one. These files are also case sensitive.

The stock one does not play either. That one was copy & pasted to it's location with root explore.

Did you set the permissions? If not, after pasting it long press the mp3 file and select permissions.

Check the boxes so it looks like this:

X----X----O
X----O----O
X----O----O

That's probably why it didn't work.

Ok here's wat I did. I created a folder in the sounds folder called poweron. I put my mp3 in it and renamed it to poweron.mp3. I set permissions. Rebooted and didn't work. Wat did I do?
