[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.3 / 2.2.2.1 TEAMWIN touch recovery
TWRP 2.2.2.1 touch recovery. For kicks, I compiled the TWRP recovery.
TWRP 2.3.3.0 touch recovery Test builds.
Working. Wiping, flashing zip files, backup and restore twrp backups, file manager. USB storage working now.
Current bugs: adb via computer in recovery not working in 2.2, but works in 2.3.3.0
Not compatible with Xionia backups or COT backups
Does not flash update.zips use a stock recovery : [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Doesn't have the boot-loop fix that's in xionia and COT.
And no amend scripting.
Further updates ... themes maybe.
Have fun. Flash in recovery
TWRP 2.2.2.1 build 4d, [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
- actually fixed blue colors, so mdpi themes will be easier to make.
- Need to delete ui.zip on your sdcard in the TWRP/theme folder, otherwise you'll get some funky colors.
- or rename one of the themes in the TWRP/theme folder to ui.zip to see the changes.
- Themes: Check your /sdcard/TWRP/theme folder. Rename any themes or overwrite them. Like the GREENui.zip, rename to ui.zip and reboot the recovery to see.
TWRP 2.3.3.0 test 5 build updated 12/23/2012: See this post [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
TWRP 2.4.x.x not booting past the twrp curtain for me, It needs to be compiled with JB sources. But UI and functionality in 2.4 is not anything different from 2.3 versions.
Thanks to TEAMWIN [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Re: [RECOVERY] TWRP 2.2.2.1 touch recovery
A work around for cot nands: flash cot recovery, restore wanted nand, flash twrp, make nand. Rinse and repeat as needed.

I am very, very surprised that there isn't more interest in this.

Re: [RECOVERY] TWRP 2.2.2.1 touch recovery
I'll look into it, but I probably won't change too much coding for twrp. Probably not unless the code falls into my lap.

Re: [RECOVERY] TWRP 2.2.2.1 touch recovery
Only issue is random reboot recovery while navigating a folder.

I bet drew would help
I actually like twrp interface better but the functionality of COT is boss if y'all merged the two it would prob be the best recovery......well one ANY device really ...IMO
plus you should add a security option that gives you the ability to wipe everything but recovery including sdcard(but thats just a me thing Martians are everywhere)

We (sblood86 and I) won't touch TWRP code with a 10 foot pole. The only thing I would kang from TWRP is the on-screen keyboard but the code is too far-flung from CWM to even begin to port it over. Regardless, COT pwns TWRP and that's all that matters :p

Yep that's exactly what it would be used for. However as a compromise we are looking into a feature of RZRecovery that names backups based on not only the date/time, but also the name of the ROM as written in the build.prop.

Code-wise, the TWRP UI is all sorts of complicated for no reason. Also, the UI code they wrote is all sorts of different from COT's. To use it would mean a complete rewrite of just about everything, and several of our custom features would be lost in the process.
Bottom line is, we're not touching the TWRP UI any time soon. We've seen people actually switch from TWRP to COT, so that oughtta tell you something.

Re: [RECOVERY] TWRP 2.2.2.1 touch recovery
Personally, I find the differences fascinating. While TWRP has some advantages (no scrolling, simple UI), I find COT to be more powerful and flexible.
That said, I'd be interested in trying TWRP out for a while if I didn't keep hearing rumblings of corrupted zip files on the XDA thread. That may not apply to this build, but as a serial flasher (in the good, legal, not-creepy way), even a single corrupted Nanad would make me absolutely explode.

Re: [RECOVERY] TWRP 2.2.2.1 touch recovery
I haven't had any problems with twrp since I've installed it. I've made and restored backups and flashed zips. I've also read on XDA about people having issues mounting sdcards, which I've also not encountered. The only issue I had, and it wasn't a big deal to me, was restoring cot backups. I got around that by flashing cot, restored my backup (Reborn ROM, btw), flashed twrp and made a backup of it. Then restored my cm9... :p
