Re: [ROM][WIP] CM10.1 jb 4.2.1 The JBC alpha build

See if wifi works without the virgin patch. Or try reflashing CAI kernel test 38, test 23, or test 21.

All tested. Wifi is still broken. First flashed ROM without Virgin +dalvik wipe , next 21 then , 23, 38. Back Virgin patch. In any case is Wifi slider in settings is grey and it forever says "turning wifi on".

Did you do a full wipe of system, data, dalvik, and cache before the first flash? And which recovery? Don't restore wifi setting from titanium backup.

Try manually deleting with a root file explorer the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf then reboot.

I probably uploaded the wrong build. I'll double check.

I think i found it, it's something in the ramdisk. I'll try to get a patch going later tonight. On a clean install wifi is borked, but if you dirty flash over build 17 wifi will work.

The wifi problems have something to do with the wifi region code settings they just added to cm10.1. It's stuck on Europe, i'll try to fix the default.

Temp fix for wifi on the newer builds... First flash build 17 or 23. Then let it boot. Setup wifi. Then reboot to recovery. Wipe cache and system, then install build 24 and gapps.

Found the wifi problem. The init.d scripts for sdext. Remove the 05mountsd and 40a2sd from the zip and do a clean install. You can add the scripts back later if you choose.

Anybody have GPS working?

No. Gps doesn't work. Also speed is 50% of ics. But it is alpha build. It will get better eventually.

Radio works? Strange...not that it matters for me, but it indicates the baseband as "Unknown" instead of showing the specific radio. But since camera works now, ooooh...can't wait to reload my nand (of A17) and flash the new version!!

The baseband reading will be fixed in the next build. I forgot to add that back in.
GPS support for our phone isn't in JB 4.2.1, but I see a few patches that should fix it from androidarmv6 gerrit.

Great build and good work! The lag improved after I forced gpu rendering and changed clocked settings in development. Changing the default launcher may help the lag. The apps run well, it's just the trechbuctet launcher.

Added a GPS fix in the OP. Test it out with wifi off/on. On mine it located me on navigation and made a route, but still had "locating GPS" at the bottom. It will need TTS files for voice, so that part won't be working yet. If the navigation icon is gone, reinstall Maps

Thanks thekraven, A25 release seems to be better one as it works faster and great, I noted battery drain but I downloaded Easy battery saver, and now it's OK! It would be great if there was some some fix for headset mic. Anyway it's good job!!!

It would definitely be great to have a headset mic fix eventually if possible so the Square reader will work (and, you know, headset mics themselves). :)
