1) Make sure the phone is charged
2) Enabled USB debugging (Find this in Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > check mark USB debugging)
3) [Only registered users can view links. ]
4) Install the software - typical windows click "Next" a bunch of times install
5) Run the newly installed LG Software Updater - the installer put a shortcut to it on your desktop
6) Click the "install USB drivers" button on the right side of the window under the LG logo (hard to see on windows 7) - it will ask you for your carrier and phone model so it can get the right drivers
7) It will download the drivers and auto-launch an installer - another typical windows install process ensues.
8) Plug in your phone, windows should load drivers for it and the LG Software Updater should detect it.
9) Press the big red "Start updating" button
10) Phone update dialog opens and displays progress on phone (takes about 30 minutes).
Ok I have not accepted the OTA update for LS670ZVC. I want to do the update using the LG Software Updater so I can unroot in the future. Most LS670ZVC threads just reference using this means to make the update but I have not found any step by step guidance. I am guessing it must be pretty straight forward but as a brand new android user I do not want to mess it up. Has anyone put together step by step instructions for doing the LS670ZVC update with the LG Software Updater?

Do I need to unroot and restore the stock recovery menu before I do this? I'd really like to use ThundeROM 1.7 but it doesn't play nice with v9 phones.

I'll second the question - I'm on TR 1.6.2 with Xionia 005 kernel, customised build prop. What prep work is required to update to VC?

I'm in the process of doing this right now and have run in to a snag. I have unrooted and returned to stock recovery and have downloaded the LG installer (that was tough...I'm at work which blocks the port that the tool download uses, and using the phone didn't work at first because .exe files aren't permitted by default...had to go to market, enter my google account info, and then download an app that permits .exe downloading). Anyway, I finally have the LG installer file on my computer (Winxp, sp3), but it just hangs after clicking it to install. The the installation progress bar goes about a fifth of the way across and just stops. I never get any "next" options or anything like that. Does anyone else have this problem?
EDIT: Just to be sure I have the correct tool, the file I finally was able to download and get to my computer is B2CAppSetup.exe, 245 KB in size, file version 1.0.1.7
I did this entire process yesterday...originally was on V9 running thunderom running Gingerbread. Followed the instructions to unroot then upgraded through the LG Updater to VC. Then rerooted and back to gingerbread. The instructions are on the board...just do the reading and follow the instructions. This is not a rush job as if you miss something you could brick it and go down the path of force update...

Ugh...the installer has been running on my computer for over an hour now with no progress (note: the installer file itself, not the actual firmware update...I'm still just trying to get the mobile support tool installed). Does anyone know if this installer goes to the internet to fetch more files during the install? If I couldn't download the actual installer file from my work computer due to a port being blocked, I'm wondering if this installer is also trying to get more files from that same blocked area. I have admin access to the computer, but I can't do anything about a port being blocked at our firewall.
This is the only Windows computer I have access too, unfortunately...everything else is Ubuntu. Has anyone tried running this installer and then updating your phone to VC using VirtualBox? With my Moment I know I couldn't use VirtualBox to update the phone, but I don't know about this. That may be my only hope, though.
