[How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD, using KP500 (Diag mode)

You completely skipped the Preface, where you were given a choice to root with stock ZVD or install a custom rom. You chose the custom ROM route.

Preface: Determining if you need to revert to LS670ZV9 and/or update to LS670ZVD.
Before you can update from V9/VC to VD, you need to make sure some important steps are followed or else you will have to start all over again. Please follow the steps below.

1) On your LG Optimus S, navigate to Settings->About phone and check the SW Version.
2) If the SW Version is LS670ZV9, you must be rooted to follow these steps.
3) If the SW Version is LS670ZVC, you must be rooted to follow these steps.
If you have LS670ZVC and are NOT rooted, you need to revert to LS670ZV9 first!
4) If the SW Version is LS670ZVD and you DO NOT have a custom recovery kernel, skip to Part 2. If you are unsure which recovery kernel you have, follow Part 1.
5) Install either Xionia Clockwork Recovery or drellisdee's Custom Recovery. Do NOT ask questions about recovery kernel installation in this thread.
6) Using the LG Mobile Support tool, update your device to LS670ZVD. Do NOT ask questions about the LG tool in this thread.


7) If you have Xionia Clockwork Recovery, continue to Part 3 or Part 5.
8) If you have drellisdee's Custom Recovery, continue to Part 4 or Part 6.

9) If you have the stock recovery kernel, you didn't follow the directions and should be slapped.

Is there any reason why when i flashed the recovery to xionia_cwma_12518.6 and rebooted it when to it just fine. then force flashed VD "phone came with VD installed" back to it i get the normal Recovery and it wont go past the sprint logo screen now .. iv tried reverting back to V9 even VC and it still wont boot into android... yes i read and followed all instructions carefully. i cant get the damned thing to boot..

If you can get it to boot into recovery but not Android, then there is likely something corrupted with your /system.

As to how it happened, anyone's guess. With any flashing, something unexpected can happen.

If you only have stock recovery, your only option is to try the unbrick thread

If you have custom recovery, you can try reinstalling custom ROMs and/or restoring nandroid backups.

Ya iv'e tried the unbrick method there alot but it dosnt seem to get the job done iv flashed all the fw's in e-mode and its still does the same thing. think ima have to call sprint and get a new one.. damn.

Wait you tried doing a reset with a custom recovery installed? One word: bricked. Not permanently though. I believe using KP500 in emergency mode is the solution here.

EDIT: KP500 is the long way. Use the unroot thread as described in the stickied brick warning.

Read the RED warning #2 in the first post. It gives you instructions for the new LCD.

I think the airplane mode on/off is done on purpose to reset some cell standby usage info.

##786# will brick your phone when you have custom recovery unless you are using Xionia CWMA (or stock) recovery.

Follow the unbrick thread.

Basically what drew said.

Many people have downloaded and not had any issue. I just downloaded and windows default zip handling opens it fine.

Must be something specific to your setup.

Try shift-click download and save to disk, then open up with windows default zip handling or with 7-zip (7-Zip)

Do you have a custom recovery? Can you start an adb shell session?

Also, you didn't flash in emergency mode. You flashed in normal mode. So I wouldn't consider that a real attempt at emergency mode flashing. If you want to try it again, read the unbrick thread.

i want to thank mr drewwalton19216801 ,sfhub and all the guys in the forum for helping now the phone is back to original sprint carrier working normaly...here what i did..1st i upgraded with lgupgrade forun choosing lgls670 model.............after that wipe and flash with pk-500 follow the instructions on the 1st page ,,,,,,,,,,,but thank you again all.......................

i simply want to know after the version upgrade i lost hotspot capability in my phone, so force flash back to previous version procedure that here "http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s/43409-how-wireless-tether-vd.html" will give me the ability to use hotspot again??? and do i need rooting or just force flash back will be good enough and at what stage should i stop from that page.... i'm sorry i'm kinda new to all this and don't want to mess up my phone thats why i'm seeking your help.. i really appreciate you help... thanks... Follow the revert instructions in my signature. You can revert to V9 or VC, both support hotspot. If your unit came with VC then you must revert to VC or your screen will be blank. If your unit came with something earlier than VC, then you have the option of V9 or VC. V9's advantage is it is easier to root in the future. VCs advantage is it fixed the SD card mounting problem which affected some SD cards.

The revert instructions are geared to revert to V9. If you want to revert to VC, look in the reference section (of the revert thread) for the couple substitutions to flash VC instead.

Skip step (u) as it seems you have no need to root or install custom ROMs.
