IM totallly having some serious issues trying to do any of this for my lg optimus i cant seem to get gingersnap to work or any of the other ones... i even tried to push as well as have all the files downloaded. i really want to enjoy a moded phone but this is making it impossible.... PM ME please.

Try gingerbreak v1.20 by chainfire worked for me

Just to start out, I know never i mean NEVER do an OTA update but... my wife didn't want me to root her phone but reciently she changed her mind. I guess within the last 4 days there was an OTA update that makes this method null and void.... i have tried alot of diffrent methods to get around this update but as of yet no luck... when trying to move su over to the systems folder i received and error that said the file / directory didn't exist... but i was trying to create it. Then i mounted the systems folder with the "mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system" it allowed me to move the su file and i then chmod'd it ... on restart it still didnt work ... i will keep everone updated on where i am at on breaking the new OTA but any help otherwise would be very much helpfull....

Assuming you are running on either the zvd or zvh baseband, use this method. It will also install xionia recovery.

that didn't work ... it was unsucceessfull on all the pushing of su and busybox to the system folder also failed the chmod.... so i more on word ....

also if it helps any the baseband on the phone is lg670WVD_60401001

enable the scroll buffer in the main menu, then post the log and I will be able to tell you what is going wrong.

Are you trying to root ZVD or ZVJ with this? It doesn't work on ZVJ.

Could you possibly link a method to root ZVJ? One that's confirmed to work as of recently, I've noticed some of these threads are somewhat old which makes me a little bit reluctant...

I realized that with # I was su. So I just used USB copy to copy flash and img. Worked fine and successfully installed ROM

No, you need to revert to zvd root and then update to zvj. There's more info in the stickies

mount: Operation not permitted

on step 8 I have a problem. Could any one help on this.
