And Ive seen a thread where i have to revert. But im not to familiar with customs roms so i dont really want to take the chance (so im pretty much a newb when it comes to this). Can Anyone help me Out. If You can direct me to a video to show me how. Thanks!!!

I am having the same problems, my best guess would be the new 2.2.2 update. None of the Exploits have worked for me (GingerBreak, Rageagainstthecage) if you know of anyothers that will root the most current 2.2.2 OS, let me know

I followed the instructions here and got it done fairly quickly minus a couple of bumps.

http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-...ingerbreak-no-reverting-ota-works-too-66.html

Caveats - Do a clean boot. Use a clean SD card. Kill off any apps.
Oh - you do need to use ADB to copy the files over manually. If you get the permissions erros go into the /data/local/tmp dir and rm ./sh and rm ./boomsh. Once you do this you are golden.

For a recovery manager I used the steps outlined here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-...45403-how-unroot-your-phone-return-stock.html

Obviously I just installed the recovery manager and didn't revert.

The links are busted in the thread - so go here to dig around and get the required files:
Index of /zefie/files/cell/LGLS670 - Persona Files

Now -=- does anyone have a good custom ROM to suggest for this LG 670s phone? Jeeeez.....

May be you should read up first on how to root your phone and install a custom recovery!!!!'
BUT DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER!!!!!

http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...warning-do-not-use-rom-manager-optimus-s.html

2 Different ways of rooting:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...ot-utility-one-click-root-multi-platform.html

Recovery:

Roms: Many roms to choose from besides these 2, I just include the 2 best ones.
Drew's CM7 (flash kernel after flashing this rom)

Reborn

Kernels: (If you use Drew's CM7 also use this kernel, Flash rom first then this kernel)

Ok most asked I'm sure. lol
Sprint, LG ls670
I just got Sprint to give me the MSL.
I entered a set of codes, got asked for the MSL, entered it, a lot of stuff opened.
NOW WHAT?
Ultimately I would like to switch to my carrier.
I've got Z4, Superuser, Astro file Mgr, Root explorer, ROM toolbar, Universal Androot, Titanium backup,Gingerbreak, The drivers, ....
Tried different ones, but wouldn't even know it if I got it right.
What I would like is to be able to access any part of my phone I wanted to, needed to, and ultimately be able to use it as a phone not just a wireless device in my home.
Any help would be great.
Simple, step by step would be great as that is the one thing I just can not seem to find out here.
Again,

ok, got the installer, gonna check it out. (yes, also got the required all around.) thanks
And, yes. I am aware, but are you?
I caught this thread in the middle somewhere from another place, got confused, posted the question, read the post pages, found the beginning, took the advice, and did it.
So, that said, if anyone wants to know how to "ROOT their SPRINT LG ls670 The start page of this thread, leads to a successfull root of this device if you keep in mind these things.
1. Seems obvious, wasn't to me ) This is all done on the desktop computer.
2. The instructions are simple, but you may have missed the requirements. STOP!
3. The requirements have requirements...So, find the first requirement. "Get and install .NET 3.1" (There's a link.)
4. NOW you can install the 1st requirement (confusing ain't it?) .NET 4
5. Read the posts again because I think there's a couple more requirements? Maybe not.
6. Have the Droid plugged in by USB debugging.
7. Go to the Gingerbreak folder on the desktop computer. Open it, and pick one. (I'm not sure because there seems to be a DOS application that may have to go first, may not need, try a couple.)
8. If it doesn't start, do what it tells you.
9. If it does, hit the button (Mine actually started with "UN" root, so I did.
10. If you did what I did, do it again. (This time hit "Root")
11. Wonder what all that new information is and what the heck you think you are going to do with it now that you just did.)

Ok, I guess here's the next logical question to the thread.
NOW WHAT?
I'm assuming that things are working like this.
1. I probably do have some functionality within the phone, but most of the things I'm going to want to do, will be actually done on the desktop computer?
2. It doesn't look or work like I'm being guided to places to do these things because I'm actually doing things the way real "programmers" do them?
3. That asked, anyone wanna give me a crash course in what I'm working within? Would this be Linux, or something? Does the O.S. in the folders I'm working with, use the same type of sorting, placing, cross referencing, etc. or could it all be something way different? Like if it had a place for actions, or one for types of info? Etc.
4. What would be the info required by my new carrier, what would they want (need) to put where to make my phone work on their system, (mostly so I can explain what I need from them) Ex. EID placed in a certain folder, etc.
5. THANK YOU!

I used gingerbreak, I have superuser no problem however when I use my cmd to use ADB and I go to the adb shell it gives me an $ rather than the #. Any suggestions. I am attempting to push the xionia_cwma_12518.6.img. Thanks for the forum.

This is really a question for another thread.

Answer is:
command
adb push [filepath]

is different from
command
adb shell

Exit the shell first, then do the push.

if you are in ADB shell and have the $ instead of the #, then you should type
command
su

to get the root prompt. When Superuser prompts you for permissions on the phone, be sure to tap 'Ok.'
