netflix apk - no device check

, a couple of guys have a netflix apk that has the device check removed. Works on my phone running Reborn 2.1 and on my wife's phone running ThundeROM 1.8.3. I get the green bar at the top of the window in both instances but videos are otherwise watchable.

This seems like it might be easier than editing build.prop.

Could you give us a thread. This would save tons of time. If this works I will edit my instructions and give the option to do it the EASY way or the HACK way. Thank you for the good find.

Nice find

reverted my build.prop and downloaded the device check disabled apk and worked just fine on Scott pilgram....might try on reborn again, but not sure if its worth it. The whole green bar/out of tune thing makes it kindoff useless...... Thanks for the link!

I don't have a green bar on mine, CM7 zefies build, great find in general though.

Half works on my stock myTouch 4G, shows the video selection options, allows me to hit play, then kicks back to the Neflix menu and doesn't play anything

My optimus s won't let me download the apk. It says its unsuccessful. Not supported on this device. Running thunderom 1.8.3.... Any advice?

I had the same problem. Eventually, I went to my computer and downloaded to the memory card and installed from there. I also was unable to install over the top of the app-store version. To remedy that I uninstalled the original app and then installed the hacked version afterwards.

with or without stagefright it works, but reguardless of what u change with tweaks the green bar will still be there on any ROM that isnt CM7. CM7 uses a diff config on the LCD.

Works great on my phone on 3g service, Reborn ROM 2.0. Only issue is the already mentioned thin green bar across the top of video. Sound and picture are great.

why is my color real bad? i dont mind the green bar but my picture quality is real bad

I rooted my wife's s with aosap not zefies.. and she has zero problems. No green bar no bad color... if I was on my PC I would upload the .apk if anyone wants to try and findit it's got mod2 somewhere in the name.

nobody calls my EVO a fizzle and gets away with it!!

The color is real back because your not running CM7. They have diff settings within the build for LCD density and such. I don't know any more than that tho. So try CM7 and u will be fine.. but IMO, Reborn is worth having over quality netflix

CM7 is a diff style ROM. Its a cayanogen mod.. check out Scott Pilgrims CM7 ROM... then u will know what im speakin of. Its not as good for battery life etc... but has a diff look and feel and has a diff. LCD config....its a port
