I remember lots of people in the dark days (when LG first closed the rage and psneuter exploits) saying this phone is a pain to root with the reverting and the command line stuff.
All this hoopla about Evo 3D locked bootloaders got me looking into what Thunderbolt was doing to get the eng hboot loaded.

Lo and behold, revert to older ROM vulnerable to psneuter and wpthis expoit, write the eng hboot to get S-OFF (signature checks off, NAND write protect off). Lots of command line typing. Sound familiar?
What a difference a month makes. With the new gingerbreak exploit and the good work of Drew and others rooting is much simpler.
Kudos to everyone who has worked on this phone.
As an aside, I think more and more phones will start looking like we did a month ago as known exploits get closed with new updates or in new phones.
