Help, 2.3 back to 2.2

Currently I am running AOSP 2.3 but I need to switch this phone to a different line so I have been trying to revert back to one of the 2.2 roms. All the 2.2 roms install fine, they reboot, load up to the home screen but then freeze. I follow all the directions for the install, I am on the VD baseband, and I have the current Xionia Clockwork recovery. Am I missing something? Thank you for any help

Did you wipe your cache and dalvik and data?
Maybe try the debug format system zip

Yes, I did all of the wipes. After each time I try to install 2.2, I had to do a restore in the recovery for me to be able to use the phone again.

Debug format system zip is in the recovery?

edit: I see what you are saying, I am doing the formats now.

I got it working, it did not like the sdcard so when I took the card out it works fine.

edit: I see what you are saying, I am doing the formats now.
