Can't update apps on sd card

This has probably been covered before, but I can't find the answer. Any time I try to update an app, I have to move it from the sd card to the phone then back. It is not rooted . I tried switching out sd cards and I still have the same problem. Also, sometimes after I do the move, update, move, the market goes back to saying I need to update again. Is there anything I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

The "new" market is very unstable at present. There are times that the market reports that an app has an update when it really doesn't. This is one of many bugs we are all experiencing with the market.

Not familiar with that problem, but this might make dealing with it easier: SDMove.

Maybe this will work: delete the update for Market in Settings to get back to your factory setting of the app. Btw, often before I download an app update, I make a back-up of the "old" app. Should the updated version not work well, which sometimes is the case, I can delete it and restore the old one.
