Unhappy Red X on Battery Icon

Alright so a month after my phone got the Sprint Update, I have been seeing my phone do some wierd turing itself off and on. Now, it will not charge, it when i plug it in to the computer it black screens for 60seconds then boots up, then afterwards the phone starts up and it says "please connect charger" but there is a Red battery icon and it has a red X on the battery and the phone instantly reboots and repeats this process in a loop. I know this sounds stupid, but I did the old tongue to the connection, and it seems its still got a bit of some kinda charge, but whats wrong with my phone. I mean its been rooted for a long time, and no custom rom. Please help me!!!

Use the wall charger to get a full charge.

You aren't getting the right mA rating from the computer USB port, and the GB update screwed the pooch when it came to that.

If you are rooted do you have a custom recovery too? If so once you get a charge flash drew's Gingerkernal. Some reports of charging issues fixed. http://forums.androidcentral.com/sho....php?p=1205868

OP sounds like he is not rooted and he just got the 2.3 update back when Sprint pushed it out.

Id suggest you take it to the Sprint store. Tell them the 2.3 update screwed your phone up. They should be able to revert it back.
Second option, read on how to do it yourself by rooting and reverting to 2.2.

One of the last things he wrote was that he was rooted
