I still have g-bread installed on my optimus S, and to be honest things have been working ok....long story short over the last week or so I cannot get it to connect to my computer so I can transfer files using my usb.

I have tried all the drivers, re-loaded them ...loaded them, I did have to hard-reset my phone about a week ago because it locked up, and would not turn on...I was not pleased, but when i re-started it after cleaning everything over from scratch I could transfer files.

However now, when it try and connect it says Windows does not recognize this device. I am running windows 7.....

I am so ready to toss this phone, it is not worth it.

Any suggestions?

Do you have the appropriate drivers installed for the device? Windows can't do anything without the right drivers and that is what it sounds like on the surface. Also, have you tested the SD card to see that it is still working properly?

Ok I have tried a bunch of drivers for my computer, including the most up to date one from the LG page...my phone charges using the usb cable, i checked my sd card...

any suggestions?

The thing is it worked earlier like Sunday of this week, same phone, same chord, same drivers.

Clean the connections on the phone, cord, & USB port? Try another cord?

If that doesn't work, maybe try a different computer or a Linux live CD. If you get it working in one of those situations, then you can eliminate a bunch of pieces as being at fault.

The phone still charges via usb, but I cannot put anything on the phone from my computer

Have you enabled USB debugging? I remember reading somewhere that a bug in the GB update needed that to be on.

Did you download ALL of the LG drivers from the LG website? I had the same issue and didn't get the right file the first time. Look under the Sprint LG drivers section _hope u get it working :-)
