So what are your recommendations for streaming video to my optimus? Mostly streaming over wifi, and I don't mind having a server installed for an app on my desktop.

Just looking to watch some videos on my phone. Btw transcoding is necessary, as most of my movies are not in formats easily supports by the phone, and using Handbrake to convert them is a pain. Thanks for any ideas!

Hmmm. Im i little confused by this. If you want to be able to stream good quality video that is easy i would suggest installing adobe flash if you already dont have it ( http://forums.androidcentral.com/spr...2-optimus.html ) Thier is also a link somewhere for adobe flash 11 which is the latest. As of an app to watch movies on id suggest "netflix", or evan "movies by flixter" both of which can be found on the market.

i used to use orb live to stream hulu and all my music/videos off my pc (that i leave running 24/7. worked great. do some googling on setting it up, was pretty simple as far as i recall.

this might get you started, also was nice having orb stream my music when i used to have a smaller sd card.
