getprop isn't returning the MSL For my Optimus S. Any ideas about recovering the MSL?

Update: Howto...

Run logcat, level DEBUG. Dial ##DATA# and the MSL is revealed.

Look for a line like this:

11-16 01:56:15.790: DEBUG/LG_SVC_ITEMS(249): getSvcItems itemId 100 = 328664-END

6 digit # is the MSL/SPC

Hmm it worked for me on my EVO. I can't try it on my Optimus because I have the T. I know Sprint can be pretty easily talked into giving it to you.

Call them and tell them that LG instructed you to do a hard reset and you have to reprogram it.

Solved

After decompiling the LG code, LgSvcItems class is the class that looks up the MSL. Turns out they log it. Why didn't I just look at the logs in the first place? Run logcat, level DEBUG. Dial ##DATA# and the MSL is revealed.

Look for a line like this:

11-16 01:56:15.790: DEBUG/LG_SVC_ITEMS(249): getSvcItems itemId 100 = 328664-END

6 digit # is the MSL/SPC

either way Sprint can EASILY be talked into giving you an MSL. Gosh i don't think they've given me an issue getting it in 5+ years. Typically a 2 minute phone call. Save as a text on your SDcard and BAM!!! got it whenever you need it even if you wipe and flash ROMs

EDIT - also ... were you looking because of THIS? The answer is yes, slot cycle index is 2
