Bad news, while the Optimus does have a recovery mode, ADB is useless within it.

C:\Users\zefie>adb shell
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -

Recovrey mode navigation:
Volume up = up
Volume down = down
Menu Button (right of Home key) = Select

To play with this yourself (not recommended for non-dev users):
adb shell into your rooted optimus.
su
reboot recovery

Edit: ImageShack URL since attachment isnt working:

Anyone one who wants a custom recovery please see this thread its details the dumps I'll need from a rooted phone to make it. In case you haven't heard of me as I'm not active here I made the original one for the ally and the alternate one for the incredible and I'm just about done with the recovery for the opt 1/T. Please post in that thread as I'll monitor that one.

Well, Wubi didn't work so I had to install Virtual Box. Currently updating Ubuntu right now.

Sent from my LG Optimus S using Tapatalk Pro

This reset my phone to factory default everything, and the second key combination didn't do anything. :( I'm glad I did a full backup with titanium backup right before I tried this.

You don't have to do a hard reset on your phone from the recovery screen . . . there is an option just to reboot.

Then again, I could be thinking of a different key combination.

It's stable enough ksmith and me both have tried it without issues.:)

It is pretty stable I'm just not able to use the USB Toggle. Keeps freezing on me. Everything else I tried worked fine just not that, not sure if it is an issue for me or everybody else.

we tried a simple file copy command. for all we know telling it to format /data could format boot.img :p

Unlikely yes. :p

Anyway, I found a couple of "tot" files that are apparently to be used with low level flashing tools @ LG and Sprint. Its not the flashing tools I am interested in though. Inside these "tot" files are boot.img, system.img, data.img, cache.img, recovery.img ect.. we need to figure out a way to extract them so we can make our own "RUU" so to speak.

you know, the "mayday" flash for when we need to go to Sprint Repair :p
