I am using handcent but my old messaging keeps popping up. Turn it off?

My sprint phone came with a messaging service I did not like. I am using handcent but keep gettting notices from my old service plus handcent. How can I turn my old sms service of?

Open the stock messaging client, go to settings and uncheck notifications.

That should work--it does for me. Double check and maybe reboot just to make sure the setting 'sticks.' As for turning off the quick text feature, this can be done in Handcent's settings.

Odd that you are still getting notificationsare you getting 1 notification and after you open the text it remains at the top,,,,and what type of keyboard are you using, the only one that i know you can turn off auto predict is swype.
