why does the official twitter app drain my battery soo much lol i can literally watch the % go down by the minute while using the app, anyone know any tips/tricks?

I'm not quite sure if that's the real problem for your battery drainage (consumption). There might be another application(s) causing this. However, if you feel that this app is the culprit, then stop using it and check on the market for another twitter client. There are several of them available.

I use Seesmic as well as the official twitter client.

One thing you might try is uninstall it, reboot the phone and try to re-download it. Its possible, but unlikely, something didnt install right or an update didnt install right.

huh, I've never had any problems with the official twitter app :/
