Trouble entering data in fields

I've had a TON of problems filling out forms on websites. An example is when inputting my phone number it Erroll have a number or a dot already in it, but if I try to put the cursor and backspace, select all and delete, it won't work. It happens with passwords too. I tried ignoring it but get a wrong password error. It's especially irritating when filling out a long form, such as an application or membership form, and I get a call that makes me have to start all over again. Any thoughts?
