Sim information please

I've got a chance to buy a v10 from a friend who literally had it for a week. (he's going back to iphone) yuk. Now the v10 uses a nano sim and my note 4 uses a micro sim. I know that they have sim card adapters that will make a nano fit a micro, but a lot of reviews by some say they've ruined their phone by going back and forth. Has anyone had experience with using these adapters and which one would you recommend?

Stay tuned, I ordered a set so I could switch the V10 nano back to my Note3 micro.
