LG V10 Video Editing Question

When editing a video, what are the two things I have circled? They are adjustable.

One other question too...can you edit a video by selecting sections to remove or selecting sections to mash together. Basically I want to remove the less active moments. Can that be done?

I believe the in app editing functions you have circled are basically for changing the speed of the video in those particular areas. You can also trim the video by dragging the toggles on either end of the video editor. You can't split the video in the native video editor but they have plenty of great third party apps for that.
