Background changes colors

Every once and a while, my background[which is the black small square pattern, I believe it's the stock background) will change to a lighter grey color along with my header panels . I turn my screen off then open it back up , the screen goes back to it's normal color. Anybody expieriencinf this and know why it's happening ? Possible fix. ?

It's the light sensor I believe.
