v10 dac question

I know to get the DAC to work you need to use wired headphones, but do you think one of those bluetooth transmitter dongles that plug into the headphone jack would be a work around to get the dac to work with bluetooth sound?

Nope. because Bluetooth audio does its own Digital to Audio conversion. The Dac on the phone outputs analog audio. Bluetooth audio is sent to whatever device you have paired and the conversion happens at the end.

The Bluetooth on the phone would be off, the dongle would be transmitting the music. The phone would think it's a wired headset.

But then the Bluetooth dongle would convert the analog signal back to digital, which would then would be transmitted to your receiver, then your receiver would decode it and use it's own DAC to convert it back to analog. So no, it wouldn't really take advantage of the DAC/Amp in the V10 in any meaningful way, and you'd likely be incurring more degradation of the signal by going from digital to analog to digital to analog instead of just using the Bluetooth on the phone. There's also the further question of whether the dongle supports aptX for Bluetooth, which the V10 does and which will give you better quality than normal bluetooth if your receiver also supports it.

Bottom-line, if you want to use the DAC, use an aux cable.

x2... what the OP is proposing is multiple DAC processes one after the other. That never bodes well if data integrity is your main goal.
BT by itself itself is a compressed lossy conversion. Even apt-x BT has some level of compression.
