Will the brightness be similar to the Note 7? In another thread it was suggested that the super amoled was brighter but I can't find any evidence of that.

The note 7 has the brightest screen of any phone on the market. It's much brighter than the v10, but I haven't seen any screen tests for the v20 yet to know how it will compare.

Most people that I've watched do unboxing/impressions on YouTube for the V20 have said that the screen looks the same as the V10. The only thing brighter was the 2nd screen at the top.

I missed their description that the v10 is the same. That would make the v20 less bright than the Note 7 presumably.

This is probably the only thing that concerns me going to the V20 from the S7 Edge. I've gotten used to how bright and vivid the AMOLED display is and things won't be that way on the V20. It will take some time adjusting to.

I'll just stay with the n7 if that is the case.

For me, screens can be weird. I can look at the Galaxy S7E and my Note7 next to an iPhone and there is no doubt which screen is better. I looked at the S7E and my Note7 next to a V10 last night and I thought the V10 screen looked better.

In terms of brightness this would seem to indicate that the v10 has about 500 nits whereas the note 7 had 1,000 nits. Is the v20 screen twice as bright as its predecessor in order to compete against the note 7?

I went to the v10 from the note 4 and I never really got over the difference in the screens. It's the biggest reason I ended up on the s7 edge. Now I miss the swappable battery and ir blaster even more though. If the v20 screen is at least brighter than the v10 i can live with that.

I highly doubt it lol. I watched one hands on video that said the v20 main screen appeared to be identical to the v10. If they had made any significant improvements to it, I think they would've mentioned then during the announcement.

The ir blaster is a huge feature for me. The phone is too big, battery too small, and screen quality so-so, and snapshot not as fast or good in low light as Note 7 but I am going to switch because of ir blaster.

I guess I'm gonna have to do a search on what the ir blaster does. 😉

Thanks.

I doubt I'd use that feature.
Does anyone know if it's still flat screen?

I think its a great phone....not sure I could ever convince myself to buy a phone mostly for the IR blaster but its your money.

Not just. The G5 has ir blaster and I wouldn't buy that. The V20 sounds decent otherwise but not in same league as Note 7 once batteries are fixed. If Note 7 had ir I wouldn't look at v20
