Will the brightness be similar to the Note 7? In another thread it was suggested that the super amoled was brighter but I can't find any evidence of that.

Most people that I've watched do unboxing/impressions on YouTube for the V20 have said that the screen looks the same as the V10. The only thing brighter was the 2nd screen at the top.
I missed their description that the v10 is the same. That would make the v20 less bright than the Note 7 presumably.
This is probably the only thing that concerns me going to the V20 from the S7 Edge. I've gotten used to how bright and vivid the AMOLED display is and things won't be that way on the V20. It will take some time adjusting to.
I'll just stay with the n7 if that is the case.

In terms of brightness this would seem to indicate that the v10 has about 500 nits whereas the note 7 had 1,000 nits. Is the v20 screen twice as bright as its predecessor in order to compete against the note 7?
The ir blaster is a huge feature for me. The phone is too big, battery too small, and screen quality so-so, and snapshot not as fast or good in low light as Note 7 but I am going to switch because of ir blaster.
I guess I'm gonna have to do a search on what the ir blaster does. ??????

Not just. The G5 has ir blaster and I wouldn't buy that. The V20 sounds decent otherwise but not in same league as Note 7 once batteries are fixed. If Note 7 had ir I wouldn't look at v20I think its a great phone....not sure I could ever convince myself to buy a phone mostly for the IR blaster but its your money.
