I can't find the option to switch from 2.4ghz to 5ghz on my V20 - I check in Advanced WiFi and there is no Frequency option. Is it just me or am I going crazy lol

That's because those frequencies are determined by your router not your phone. If you want to switch simple connect to each frequency and then select the one you want.

Question if you have a 5.0 connection why would you want to use 2.4. You are limited in the speeds at which you can achieve. I get 150+ Mbps on my phone with the 5.0

I don't know what or how I did it but my V20 seemed to automatically go on 5ghz where it was only at 2.4ghz previously...

Nothing to select on the phone. Setup SSID on 5ghz on your router and connect to it on the phone.

This is exactly what I did. I followed an online article and created a separate SSID with _5ghz at the end. This makes it easy to select the appropriate channel.

Oh, but it is!

Probably the funniest one I have seen was my friends .. Simply put as "Free WiFi". The catch was he had it open with no password and set it to MAC Address filtering so you couldn't connect unless you were put in. That was his guest one that he used to troll people around his apartment complex with. The real one he had hidden from broadcast.

I think 2.4ghz offers better range than 5ghz. At least in my experience it does.
