LG V20: Speakerphone automatically on when calling - how to disable?

Hello,

On all of my phones for years I've always used my BT headset to make calls - e.g. call Mary at work and it would go straight to my headset. About 2 weeks ago now when I say call Mary at work it will say Calling Mary at Work on Speakerphone. I don't want speakerphone and I can't seem to figure out how to stop that.

Mine does this too on occasion, even if I initiate the call on my headset with voice dialing, but it's not all the time. I've yet to figure it out beyond chalking it up to being a glitch.

I drive for a living and I'm often in and out of my vehicle, taking my phone and leaving the headset behind. I'm kind of wondering if it's related to all the reconnecting the headset goes through daily. I.e. It doesn't properly connect again when in range.
