Get OTA update (MAYBE)

This worked for other devices in the past go to Settings>Applications>Storage Use then scroll to "Google Services Framework" click it then clear data then reboot I've read it may take a few tries, let me know if it worked for you.

If you happen to get the OTA update, message "tommyjoesanders" and let him know so he can gather information for the rest of us who can't get ICS yet. Thank you.

i think the phone has to be unrooted...cuz my girl has the same phone and it jus updated to ics...i dont htink this framework clear data guide wont work unless your not rooted..im about to unroot though jus so i can get this damn update already lol

If you're still rooted go to /cache/ and the update should be there. Copy it to your sd. You need a root file explorer. Search in the market.

This sucks..just cleared my phone back to stock/unroot...still no update...why does my girl have ics and i don't? Is there any way i can pull it from her phone?

Only a nandroid backup, and we can't accomplish that yet. Also, as I stressed many times in this forum, OTA's take from 2hours to 2weeks. You have to wait it out. Unrooting isn't going to make it come any faster..

hey angel do you happen to know why im getting an error trying to add a google account and my phone says i need to have a wifi connection when i am connected to wifi? and sometimes it says "cant establish a reliable data connection to the server," but I have a strong signal and i can browse internet fine

Try to factory reset.

Do you think if i do the unbrick method on my girls phone back to zvd...that she will get the ics update notification again? Or will she be pushed back ti the end of the line?

Yep. ESN is crucial to Google. You wont even get the update OTA like that. OTA Updates still come whether your phone is activated or not, but when it comes to the wrong esn, or no esn, everything is a no-go.

ive had the same problem before.
connect to wifi
make sure sprint zone is updated
press *2, and call
update.

His ESN is gone though, so it wont work.

I followed your steps and now my phone is redownloading the update. For somereason, I had it earlier today and when i installed it failed and restarted then told me i had no new software updates. Lets hope it works this time!
