How to update to Ice Cream Sandwich...the S.M.A.R.T. way

Okay, so you have the ICS update notification prompt. Now what? WE NEED THAT UPDATE ZIP. But how do we get it? There are three known methods, which are as follows:

[BOX=Methods of getting the ICS Zip]1) Logcat. Personally, I find logcats boring and not very useful, but you can pull the url from the logcat.

2) Copy the update zip to your sdcard. I find this way much easier since you can just upload the zip to Dropbox and go from there.

3) Rent a supercomputer and hack into Google's Update Servers. (Overkill, much?)

Anyway you do it, always post the zip or url to the forums before updating. Good day you all!

2 questions. Where is that zip file located? And, is it gone once the upgrade is done?

Its in /cache and once you update its gone
