Which made me think hey, the Roaming indicator is on (even though I'm not roaming, or shouldn't be) so what if I check that box. It gave me a scary "this may cost you big bucks" message, but ever since then, even with wifi explicitly off, I am getting my email on the phone and can access the internet, etc. That was the first thing I checked (no pun intended) - I do get email notifications when I am in range of wifi, and the box is checked (I doublechecked just now). So it really does seem to be a data connection issue. Odd.
So - scary fix, I guess. As long as I don't go anywhere that would REALLY be roaming, but I'll never know...

Re: [ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS
I've started using AOKP. I've gotta say. It's really good!
But customizations and the additional Nova Launcher discourages me; strange.
I don't exactly like the Nova, and therefore I use the stock launcher. Unfortunately, the stock launcher does not have customization settings. And if I want more settings for the Nova, I have to buy the Prime version.
Guess I'm coming back to CM9.
BTW, is there a difference between the gapps(small).zip and gapps .zip that was just uploaded?Last edited by JimJ2mz; 08-22-2012 at 06:04 PM.

Use the small gapps. The large one won't fit. The only difference is that face unlock is removed, I believe. And we can't use it anyway.

Re: [ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS
And what does the Swagger option do? LOL
I also don't see a music app for AOKP.
In the apps managment, I do see MusicFX and...Unicorn Porn? O_O;Last edited by JimJ2mz; 08-22-2012 at 07:53 PM.

Re: [ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS
Rumor is that swagger does nothing, but I haven't actually verified in the code.
AOKP doesn't ship with a music app, you need to download one from the market. Or, if Apollo floats your boat, you could take Apollo.apk from the CM9 ROM and sideload it.
I believe UnicornPorn.apk is wallpapers (not naughty, just an amusing package name). But again, I haven't checked. - 08-23-2012, 03:28 AM #237

Re: [ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS
I have an SDext partition set up, and it's worked well. But, the built in script doesn't move anything in the /data/data folder (at least that I can tell). Now, this may not be the most significant source of memory use, but it adds up to close to 100 MB for the apps I use (by a rough estimate). Since apps like Link2SD can handle moving these files automatically, I thought it would be easier to disable the built in script than to rewrite it to handle more functions.

Re: [ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS
I had an issue about one week ago where several apps wouldn't update, as it said I didn't have enough memory or resources or something. Sorry, I can't remember the exact phrase for the error. I ended up doing a clean install of the AOKP rom. I saved everything with Titanium Backup, then rebooted to recovery, then wiped data/factory reset, cache, Dalvik-cache, SD:extpartition, and .android_secure. I then re-flashed the AOKP from 7-31. When I re-installed my apps with Titanium Backup, everything started working well. I must have done a dirty flash and it caused some problems. Hope this is helpful.

It is not trivial to remove the built in script because it does both apps and dalvik. I should probably separate those functions.
Anyway, I'll think about what to do about this for beta3. - 09-15-2012, 01:43 PM #249
Re: [ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS
Great Build
I have noticed with the VS660 if you turn on wifi the roaming indicator seems to disappear and the service indicator seems to function properly. Also I'm not sure if this qualifies as a "workaround" but if you turn on speakerphone it fixes the mic volume issues. I do seem to be having a problem getting barnacle to work though, whenever I start it it just says "starting" and I never get the message from SU to allow or deny it. - Barnacle working now that I enabled Roaming Data

I'll need to take that into account in the code.
This is on Lg Vortex.
