Brand New LG Urbane Stuck at 1% charging

Hi, all!

I was so excited my LG Urbane arrived today and I let it charge up a little when I got it, and it was at 100%. When it got just under 80% it shut off completely and told me the battery was drained. I plugged it in and it's been at 1% for quite a while, at least 30 minutes. I have heard this is a problem (after the fact, of course)... has anyone had the same issue? Does it resolve itself? Did I get a dud? So excited about my new watch and I can't even use it.

It's also telling me there's a system update but that I can't do it until I'm at 40%. SO FRUSTRATED.

Any insight would be much appreciated

***UPDATE***

after 3 hours charging and stuck at 3%, the watch jumped to 100% and installed and update. So far, it is working as it should, but I have read many people have had this same issue.

I've had the Samsung Gear S for almost a year and though I don't like the physical look of the watch, the performance has been spot on, save for the horrid battery life. Hoping the LG Urbane doesn't disappoint. Not a good 1st impression.

I think I read on XDA where someone swapped the power brick and it helped. May be worth a try?
