How do I safely make more memory on my LG phone?

My phone keeps trying to update but there is no more room to store data

Welcome to Android Central.

If you can't upload stuff to cloud storage or some other sort of external storage, you'll have to delete some personal data and apps.
First, try Settings, Storage, Cached Data, and clear the cache, then Power Off and Restart the phone. That might give you a worthwhile bit of storage space, depending on the cache size.
