I have been using Mint for a while and am looking at buying another 'droid, besides my pseudo-smart phone. When I first saw this sub-forum I thought it was about installing Linux on 'droids. Is that possible? I know that Android is a cousin of Linux, but I am guessing the kernel size of Android is much smaller than that of Linux. Are there android machines - any of the dual core or quad cores - that can have a carefully tailored version of some flavor of Linux installed on them? It would make the 'droid-pc connection that much closer to the ipad-mac connection.

Canonical is in the early stages of developing Ubuntu Touch. I'd give it at least 6 months before it even comes to Nexus 4 though. They give instructions on how to port it to some phones, but like I said, it's still in its early stages.
