My favorites (in no particular order):

    1. GoSMS Pro
    2. Time Recording Pro
    3. GMail
    4. Car Home Ultra
    5. SPB Shell 3D

    Honorable mentions:

    1. TouchPal Contacts
    2. ES File Explorer
    3. SPB Wallet
    4. CalenGoo
    5. Tasks (by Team Tasks)

Speaking of favorites: Although I've tried many different contact apps/dialers, I have yet to find one that displays ALL of the Google Contacts fields correctly. For example, some will show the entire Notes field (without having to edit it), but will omit the Relationship fields. Or if they do show the Relationship fields, they won't show the type of relationship. Or the photo will be missing. Something is always missing or compromised.

    I've tried:

    Go Contacts
    TouchPal
    Contapps
    DW Contacts
    ExDialer & Contacts
    AContact
Contact Lookup Fast with Contact View

    ...just to name a few.

Has anyone found an app that shows everything in a nice interface?

I am very new to smartphones: my other phone prior to this Samsung Galaxy S3 was actually a phone!
But having used it for just 3 weeks, my favorite aps are:

    Non-Utility:
    1) Dungeon Village- game by Kairosoft in which you are the mayor/manager of a small village. Your goal is to build your village, attract adventurers, protect your town by sending adventurers on missions, and become a 5 star city. Has swallowed days of my life! Bought this one.
    2) Kairobotica, also by Kairosoft, is also very good, though it is less about building your floating space station/robot building business and more about the combat. Bought this one.
    3) Koi Live Wallpaper- Love, Love, Love! Can even feed the fish! And the developers keep adding stuff. Two new backgrounds have appeared since I first downloaded it. Bought this one.
    4) Shazam- Have your phone listen to a song and Shazam finds it and tells you the name and all kinds of other info about it. Free Version.
    5)

    Useful stuff:
    1) Flixster- Movie times near your and reviews at your fingertips! Free version.
    2) World Weather Clock Widget- actually has tiny icon sized widget that shows location, date, day, time and chance of rain. So many of the other ones I looked at were all gigantic and covered my lovely wallpaper.
    3) Quick Pic- Photo Gallery that lets you make folders and you can press down on a picture and get options including delete. I really like that last, which sadly was not default in Gallery which came with the phone.
    4) Drop Box- Lets you store stuff (up to 2 GB free, can pay for more) and be able to access it from phone, tablet, laptop and computer! Really useful.
    5) Audubon Birds: A Field Guide- Has full color pictures, often several of each bird. Also several audio clips of the birds songs/sounds. And has search feature to find a bird you see including location, date, color, etc. Really well done.
    6) Lookout Security and Antivirus- Sorry about a 6th, but forgot to put this one in. Runs in the background and seems really good so far.

    That's it for now.
I am trying Tasker, S-Voice, Camera Zoom FX, Dolphin and Chrome. So far I hate S-Voice. Tasker seems good, but I am not the most tech savvy and the learning curve is high. Camera Zoom FX seems better then the default camera that came with the phone. Dolphin gets very different search results then Chrome, so could be good to have both if you want some diversity in your searches.

On a side note: Would love to see folks offer a brief description of each app and what device they use it on. I would be more inclined to check out apps that worked well on Samsung Galaxy's then on other phones. And the description is a must I think. For example, I have no idea what DoggCatcher is. This was true of many apps listed. But if the description listed something I was interested in, I would go check it out and see if I could get it for my phone.
    Thank you!

MyPhoneExplorer - syncs to MS Outlook over USB, WiFi, or Bluetooth
DW Contacts - creates Google groups from Outlook categories with many ways to sort contacts
K-9 Mail - email client w/BCC to self
DX Player - plays MOV Quicktime
    QuickPic - pic/video reader
