! Couldn't install on USB or SD card.

That is a fairly common issue. Unmount your SD card then go back to the market and install.

beware XDA: its not the same any more

hate to double post but XDA is at it again. I created a thread to let everyone know that Thor released an update to his ICS rom. The thread was 100% in compliance with stated XDA rules. No links, no attachments..just pointing out that those interested could google to find it. I was BANNED...

    Thors ics rom updated

So far just a little screen wake issue....but turning wifi off when asleep fixed...though I would prefer to leave always on. It is a new kernal etc.....I expect small updates over the next week or 2 will fix any major issues that pop up.

    Thors ics rom updated

At long last Thor has updated his ics rom over at tegra user forums. It jumped from v96 to v126. It now has pretty much everything working (camera!)and is very stable (well as stable as can be with less than 8 hours since release.) Enjoy

beware XDA: its not the same any more

I agree 100%. The op in the thread did it to stir trouble....and point out the inconsistent rulings by xda mods. Instead of addressing that (exactly like you did.....great explanation by the way) the mod just laughed and mocked the op. Thus validating everything we have been saying about xda...

beware XDA: its not the same any more

Jules The reason I posted here is that any discussion is pretty quickly shut down at XDA. Here is another thread that I found exemplifies the issues with XDA and moderators who pick and choose to enforce rules. All ICS leak based ROMs must go - xda-developers In an nutshell, the OP pointed...

beware XDA: its not the same any more

Nope I posted here because Android Central provides help to new users and much of that help leads to XDA (that is how I found them). I want to make sure that those who drift over there understand that XDA is VERY elitist (at least in the subforums I frequent....Evo, SG24gt, Acer). A year ago...

beware XDA: its not the same any more

Wanted to make sure that those who use XDA for Roms and general info are aware of a very disturbing trend going on over there. They are now actively deleting threads that discuss Roms that are not hosted on XDA. Had an issue last week where some of the "old guard" were running roughshod over...

    Backing up "EVERYTHING" How?

Couple of things. 1. Root your phone, then use Titanium to do full backups. You can then copy these periodically to your PC. 2. Root your phone, then make complete backups via Clockwork, again saving them to your PC periodically. 3. Dont loose the phone (sorry couldnt resist!) As someone...

    ICS rom by Thor

Have not seen much movement on this forum, and didn't see any mention of this awesome rom. Forum TegraOwners • View topic - [Dev]A500 ICS device building I have been running v77 for a day now and it is stable enough as a daily driver. Kindle Fire Cases

All I need a rugged case for a 12 year old who uses the fire as a speech board. He has downs and autism (hurray for double diagnosises!!) and up until now has been non-verbal. My wife got a fire for Christmas and she found Tap to Talk in the amazon market. She loaded and let our son play...

Zagg screen protectors are full of poop!

I will give you the ZAGG is expensive, and its some marketing, but they do offer lifetime replacement. You dont send it in first, you order a new one from them, they put a hold on your CC and then remove it when you send the old one back. Its not a perfect system but it works, and I do like...
