I've noticed this also. I've just been going to my calendar app on my phone and selecting the destination. I'll probably send feedback directly to the Android Auto team and hope they make a change.

I had the issue this morning. Even the side button wasn't working. I used the Zenwatch Manager to trigger the lost watch - vibrate. That turned the screen on, then I could then access the restart option from the menu

I dont keep any music on my device except those i save from Spotify or from my personal collection via Google Music. I'm considering dropping Spotify for just Google Music since it allows you to save music to the SD card.
