What do you think of phones having no physical buttons? (i.e. Home and back buttons)

I'm a fan of on-screen buttons on my devices. It gives the phone an overall cleaner look and reduces the size of the bottom bezel. Furthermore, depending on the ROM, on-screen buttons allow for greater customization of what can be done. You want a search button and a menu button? Add them. Plus...

Re: Post Your Phone Timeline Only counting daily driver phones (ones that I've had my AT&T SIM card in), my timeline has been eight phones. September 2005-September 2009: Samsung SGH-X497 September 2009-September 2010: Samsung A777 September 2010 - July 2011: HTC Dream July 2011 - May 2013...

Are you wearing an android watch?

I've been Moto 360 wearer for about five months. TBH, I just wanted a really cool, super-customizable watch, and the fact that it can show notifications from my phone makes it all the better.

    SGS3 odd screen anomalies

Ah, okay. The only other AMOLED screen that I've owned was my Nexus One, and I never saw anything like this.

    SGS3 odd screen anomalies

About two weeks ago, I got a T-Mobile variant Galaxy S3 (T999L) new from Target (Brightspot Mobile, technically). Couldn't pass the deal up, haha. I've gotten the phone unlocked in the meantime and it works great on AT&T's LTE network. Anyway, I've noticed a strange problem with the AMOLED...

Why do I get two layers of lockscreens?

That screenshot almost looks like the Android 4.0 lock screen. The font on the clock gives it away. Anyway, I also find it annoying that with a PIN unlock, there is now an extra step to go through to preform before unlocking. Why do I need to swipe up then enter my PIN? Sent from my Nexus 7...

    Who makes default Android browser?

You're probably talking about the AOSP browser that was included with Android pre-KitKat. That browser was also made by Google, but there's no way (AFAIK) to install it without root or a custom ROM. As far as testing webpages with it, both Chrome and the AOSP browser run the WebKit rendering...

HTC Desire 610 with LTE available on AT&T later this month for $199

I played with one at an AT&T store today. Seems like a decent device. They had the 610 on display next to an M8, and looking at the two side-by-side, you can really tell a difference in the quality of the screen. At 4.7", I think HTC should've made the screen at least 720p, but qHD isn't that...

    Third party launchers

I have done that. I always choose to make whatever launcher I'm using the default. Furthermore, I've gone into Nova's settings and have set it as the default. Doesn't matter. It must be this version of Google Search that's screwing with things.

    Third party launchers

I know this forum is pretty inactive, but I'll give this topic a shot... I got an Alcatel OneTouch Evolve yesterday ($30 Walmart Family Mobile deal) as a backup phone. Immediately after booting it up, I noticed a stuck blue pixel on the upper right corner of the screen. I can deal with this...

    Droid 4 on Straight Talk?

A friend of mine, currently on Virgin Mobile, currently has a dying Kyocera Rise, and wants a better phone. He needs a smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard, but there's nothing better than the Rise on Virgin, so he's looking at putting a Droid 4 and putting it on Straight Talk. The phone...

Android device mirroring coming to Chromecast

Got the update today on my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 (the latter running Android L). The screen mirroring is still a bit buggy at the moment. Streaming video lags terribly, but I'm not surprised. On my Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.4, when I do a two-finger slide down on the notification bar to...

What apps aren't working in Android L?

Firefox or Facebook? If Firefox, they released a new version of Firefox Beta on Play yesterday, but it's still not working on L.

What apps aren't working in Android L?

Aside from those already listed, one big app that I use every day that crashes on startup in L is Firefox.

Nexus 5 LTE on AT&T - IMEI, provisioning, etc...

My Nexus 5 isn't picking up AT&T LTE. I don't think my account is provisioned to get LTE, because I was previously on a Lumia 520 (HSPA+ only) before moving to the Nexus 5. I think they have my Lumia 520 IMEI on file and don't recognize the Nexus 5 as a LTE device.
