When I tethered (just to see if it really worked) I had to download an app to do it. I don't see anywhere on the phone that you can tether.

That junk is a signature. Go into the settings and type a letter there. Any letter. Or you can type your name. Then, if you don't want your signature on every text disable it in the settings. It seems like you need to put something in the signature box. Then you can choose to show it or not...

You can call Straight Talk and they can block the number. They've done it for me.

I have the same problem with the same phone. Some people can hear me, others say I'm breaking up or there's a lot of static on the phone. I did call Straight Talk about another problem and the guy couldn't hear me unless I shouted. *sigh*
