Update--I tried again this evening and it worked. Maybe it just needed time to think about it. But the problem is solved.

On my N4, I started to download the 4.3 System Update, but it failed. I'm now on the screen that says "Retry Download", but when I hit that button nothing happens. I powered down the phone and let it sit overnight, but still it won't download the update. Any suggestions? Thank you.

FoxFi works for me, though I had to uninstall it and reinstall it, and then I renamed the connection (as suggested by the app developer). Now I can run my laptop and iPad through my phone.

Without doubt, the single greatest feature for me is the ability to disable (most of) the bloatware.

Update for everyone who helped: I wiped the cache, let the battery run down to the point where the phone shutoff, and recharged. So far it's at 90% and still going. Success! Thanks to all.

Hard reset as in volume down button plus power button? Yes, tried that. I'll try the discharge. Thanks.
